Girls Skirts
Skirts are a very popular spring and summer-time outfit for girls. A skirt is a lot like a dress, except the length of a skirt is usually a lot shorter than a dress. A skirt wraps around your waste, and hangs down to cover some (or all) of your legs. Skirts come in many different sizes from long dress-like skirts, to short mini-skirts.
Generally, skirts are worn by girls all around the world, but that doesn't mean they're unique to girls. For example, in Scotland a red skirt (or kilt) is a traditional outfit worn by men.
Because a skirt leaves your legs exposed, they are usually worn during the warmer summer months. Normally very light weight, the skirt will fit securely around your hips and then it will expand and get fluffier and bigger as it hangs down over your legs. The first skirt showed up in China hundreds of years ago, and it was called "Daun Qum" which means "short skirt". These originally skirts barely covered the butt of the girl who wore it.
